Wending Home

Wending Home Estate Vineyards

Wending: Travelling slowly, indirectly, yet purposefully.  That’s how they make their wines. Veteran winemaker Ron Giesbrecht and partner Huaying Feng invite you to share both traditional varietals and uncommonly delicious blends.  The added meaning of “Wending”, in Cantonese: Wen 問 ding 鼎, “to aspire to be the best”, manifested in every wine.

Bachelder

Bachelder Wines

This Niagara winery makes wines from local terroirs, using “wild” (indigenous) yeasts, and grapes from older vineyard parcels when they can find them. They encourage low-impact viticulture – especially organics – wherever possible. Everything goes to barrels for long ageing and development – barrels carefully chosen for their “transparency” and ability to help express terroir.

Divergence Wines

Divergence Wines

Small and exclusive productions, made with hand-pick grapes sourced from select parcels within some of Niagara’s best vineyards and crafted to deliver quality.

For Divergence, quality is prioritized before quantity in every aspect of the product. Their wines focus on precision, authenticity, and texture as they seek to deliver a unique take on the best of what Niagara has to offer.

Hinterland Wine Company

Hinterland Wine Company

Sparking wine for every occasion

Authenticity is more important than trend and we believe where the grapes are grown matters. We also believe in the expression of terroir in wine. In Prince Edward County we observed our vineyards for three years and came to the conclusion in 2007 that we should make sparkling wine.

Redtail Vineyard

Redtail Vineyard

Makers of great alt-wines that are varied in style. Some are polished and premium, others more fun and frivolous. They might be low intervention, sustainably farmed, or produced in small batches. Most of them are experimental in style. The Retail team has fun with these wines, in the cellar and in their design. What they have in common is that they’re the alternatives to the classics.

Trail Estate Winery

Trail Estate Winery

Drawn to the beauty of Prince Edward County, the owners started their entrepreneurial efforts by opening a bakery in 1978. Their approach to winemaking is to bring healthy dose of intuition and curiosity as to the craft. They want their wines to be equally ephemeral and to express the best this land has to offer. They believe every wine should be surprising, textural and soulful. Being true to nature means letting wild yeasts ferment their wines with as little intervention as possible.

Rosewood Estates Winery

Rosewood Estates Winery

This is a love story. The owners fell in love with the region on their honeymoon and 18 years later they bought the property. This Beamsville property was planted in 2003, and the original winery building was constructed in 2005. Rosewood opened its cellar door and bottle shop in 2008, and have been following their dreams ever since.

Pearl Morissette

Pearl Morissette

Situated in the Niagara region, this winery creates unique wines through a process of exploration and experimentation. They produce limited quantities of quality wine that reveal the beauty of their wine region. Their approach is very hands-off with low levels of intervention, and they see their  job is to guide the wine as opposed to fixing the wine. Their grapes are carefully hand-picked solely on the basis of skin maturity. This approach enables each grape to impart its unique character in every glass.

Stanners Vineyard

Stanners Vineyard

Stanners Vineyard is a small family vineyard and boutique winery dedicated to producing premium Pinot Noir. Prince Edward County is a relatively cool winegrowing region. Whole berries with no crushing and whole berry fermentation allows for the retention of rich fruit flavours in order to balance the natural acidity produced by our cool climate. Skin contact for reds during fermentation is typically two to three weeks to enhance complexity. Minimal racking for both whites and reds allows for extended lees contact (no stirring) which again enhances the complexity and texture of the wine.
